Description of Project:

International Development Center of Japan Inc. has entrusted Development Solutions Consultant Limited (DSCL) to conduct Environmental and Social Consideration (ESC) – related Data Collection Task for Strengthening Framework of Operation and Implementation of the Moheshkhali-Matarbari Integrated Infrastructure Development Initiative in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The objective of this task is to collect the latest ESC-related informationin particular, the land-take and ECC application/approval processes of recent JICA-financed projects, implemented in Bangladesh; and (ii) analyze gaps of its actual implementation of relevant ESC programs, in particular, the land-take related issues of selected projects from viewpoints, listed within this ToR.

DSCL has engaged by International Development Center of Japan Inc. (hereunder referred to as the Client) to carry out the Environmental and Social Consideration (ESC) – related Data Collection Task for Strengthening Framework of Operation and Implementation of the Moheshkhali-Matarbari Integrated Infrastructure Development Initiative in The People’s Republic of Bangladesh

Description of Actual Services Provided by Staff of this Firm in the Assignment:

Main objectives of this environmental and social consideration (ESC)-related data collection task

(Hereinafter referred to as “Study”) are as follows

–         Collect the latest ESC-related information, in particular, the land-take and ECC application/ approval processes of recent JICA-financed projects, implemented in Bangladesh

–         Analyse gaps of its actual implementation of relevant ESC programs, in particular, the land-take related issues of selected projects from viewpoints, listed within this ToR.
