Environmental Testing and Social Survey for Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Study for Bangladesh Special Economic Zone Developments Project in Narayanganj, Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Special Economic Zone (BSEZ) is the Economic Zone (EZ) to be developed by Bangladesh SEZ Ltd. The Project site is located at Satgram & Duptara Union, under Araihazar upazila. The total land of the project area is 200 ha or 494.2 acres more or less. The main objectives of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Study are to identify and assess potential impacts on natural environment and pollution caused by the development and operation of Bangladesh Special Economic Zone including without limitation, Central Water Treatment Plant (CWTP), Central Sewage Treatment Plant (CSTP), and any other facility or service in the Project area which shall be necessary to be reviewed and analyzed in obtaining approval to conduct the economic zone development and operation.

DSCL mainly conducted some environmental testing related to air, noise, surface water, groundwater and soil including sampling and providing test result. In addition, also conducted social survey mainly several Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Public Consultation Meeting (PCM) as per the guideline provided in the Terms of Reference (ToR).
