Consultancy Services for IEE and EIA of IEE and EIA of 2 development cum assessment well (Sundalpur-4 and Srikail-5) and 2 Exploration Well (Sundalpur South-1 and Jamalpur-1) Development Project.

BAPEX plans to drill 02 development cum evaluation wells (Sundalpur-4 and Srikail-5) and 02 exploration wells (Sundalpur South-1 and Jamalpur-1) to ensure energy security in the larger interest of the nation. Sundalpur-4 development and evaluation well in Nabipur Union under Senbag upazila of Noakhali district, Srikail-5 development and evaluation well in Srikail union under Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla district, Sundalpur South-1 exploration well in Rampur union under Companiganj upazila of Noakhali district and Jamalpur-1 exploration well under Madarganj upazila of Jamalpur district. Belongs to Balijuri Union.

The current average production of natural gas is about 2644 mmcfd. A total 965 billion cubic feet (BCF) of natural gas was produced in 2018-19 which was used by power- 43%, fertilizer-5.5%, captive power-15%, industry-16%, domestic-15%, CNG – 4% and others very small amount. Subject to oil/ gas discovery, the project will increase additional 481.92 (approx.) BCF of recoverable gas reserves and produce gas at an average rate of 55 mmscf per day.

Through the implementation of this project, besides increasing the efficiency of BAPEX’s manpower, institutional development will also be achieved. Similarly, the new industrial plants in the area are institutionally stronger as industrial production will increase. As a result, BAPEX will be established internationally as more efficient company in energy and mineral resource exploration activities and exploration activities will continue as previous. If gas is discovered by drilling wells, it is possible to ensure the country’s energy needs. As a result, new industrial factories will be developed and social development is possible with the opportunity of more employment.

The consultancy services required under this project refers to the preparation of Initial Environmental Study (IEE) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report according to the requirement of the Bangladesh Government’s for the project along with obtaining Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) from Department of Environment (DoE).

The delivery of the services has been divided into the following task and its sub-tasks.
