Scope of Works for the Consultancy Services for Design Review and Upgradation/Validation of Detailed Design prepared by Design Consultant under SRTPPF-I for Detailed Tasks (a to g) for Road 8: Rangpur – Burimari Road (Length 127.9 km) and detailed tasks (f & g) for Road 9: Dauladia – Faridpur – Barisal Road (Length 156.7 km).

The DSCL has engaged by Hifab International AB (hereunder referred to as the Client) to carry out Traffic Study; Funded by ADB.

Scope of work for the consultant

(i) Check and review the geographic information system (GlS)-based road database on road inventory data (road, bridge, drainage, structures, and other facilities), condition data, and traffic data.

(ii) Check and update the survey plan based on collected inventory, condition, and traffic data of the project road. The plan should clarify the location and duration of each survey activities and the schedule of conducting the survey on the project road.

(iii) Review digital video survey of the project road focusing on the pavement condition, the width of existing roads, the right-of-way, and both side establishment.

(iv) Check and review the inventory data and if necessary, update based on site investigation, and enter the data into the database. The inventory data should include at least geometric features, pavement surface, drainage type and capacity, structures, roadside furniture, and other related facilities.

(v) Check and review collected condition data of project roads, including pavement condition, roughness, depression, drainage, structure, roadside furniture, and other related facilities, and enter the results into the database and update if necessary.

(vi) Check and review traffic survey of project roads for the purpose of economic analysis and detailed engineering design and enter the results into the database. The survey should at least include classified traffic counts, intersection volume count, origin- destination, and axle-load spectrum and update where necessary.

(vii) Check the forecast future traffic based on traffic survey and justify such forecasts.
