Feasibility Study, Detailed Design and Tendering Support of Technical Assistance for Sub Regional Road Transport Project Preparatory Facility-II under ADB Loan 3295-BAN: Additional Financing to the Sub regional Transport Project Preparatory Facility (SRTPPF-II).

Traffic Survey and Report Preparation.

The proposed project “Feasibility Study, Detailed Design and Tendering Support of Technical Assistance for Sub Regional Road Transport Project Preparatory Facility-II under ADB Loan 3295-BAN: Additional Financing to the Sub regional Transport Project Preparatory Facility (SRTPPF-II)” falls within Faridpur, Barishal Division of Bangladesh.

The main objective is to prepare the sub regional road projects for investment and implementation. All project roads were selected by the government with the expectation of significant implication to sub regional cooperation and integration.

The Scope of the project includes for Traffic survey:

§   Preparing the feasibility study,

§   The detailed engineering design,

§   The bidding documents for 590km of project roads,

§   Consultants will support to the procurement of civil works upon the government’s request and will provide support to ADB missions for loan processing,

§   Collect condition data of project roads,

§   Conduct traffic survey of project roads for the purpose of economic analysis and detailed engineering design and enter the results into the database. The survey should at least include classified traffic counts, intersection volume count, origin-destination, and axle load spectrum.

§   Use the survey results and other related literature to forecast the future traffic for a period until 20 years (with a target of 2041) after the completion of construction for each project road.

§   Categorize the roads into homogeneous sections and estimate the residue life of homogeneous sections.

§   Prepare relevant chapters and appendixes of feasibility study report to present the analyses, findings, and recommendations.
