Consultancy Services for Site Reconnaissance Survey for Construction of Floating Harbour.

A floating harbour will be established at the Chittagong outer anchorage in order to have direct connection with hinterland towards Dhaka area through sea and inland river route for early and easy delivery in terms of container handing and cargo handling. A feasibility study therefore shall be carried out for construction of floating harbour.

Development Solutions Consultant Limited (DSCL) has been engaged by SMEC International Pty Ltd. to conduct Site Reconnaissance Survey for Construction of Floating Harbour.

Scope of Services included –

Condition Assessment Survey

Condition assessment survey collection of existing information of the project area, including but not limited to the following:

·        Inspect the present conditions of all approach sections.

·        Identify the existing condition of present facilities around the section.

·        Visit all important locations around the project area.

·        Collect all relevant information of the project area.

·        Discussion with general information in the area regarding the proposed project.

·        Photographs of the project area and surrounding area.

Environmental Reconnaissance Survey

Environmental Reconnaissance Survey comprises collection of various environmental information, including but not limited to the following:

·        Local names of the Flora present in and around the section (Visual Observation & Consultation with Local People).

·        Local names of the Fauna present in and around the section (Visual Observation & Consultation with Local People).

·        Sensitive locations in and around the project area including GPS locations.

·        Photographs of the project areas and surrounding area.

Social Reconnaissance Survey

Social Reconnaissance Survey comprises collection of various social information, including but not limited to the following:

·        Number of surrounding households and their livelihood condition.

·        Local business condition.

·        Local transport condition.

·        Health & Sanitation system in the area.

·        Flooding condition of the area.

·        Photographs of the project area and surrounding area.
