| Description of Project:
The project will consist of about 181km, 36-inch gas transmission pipeline from Chittagong to Bakhrabad, southeast of Bangladesh. The gas transmission pipeline route will traverse the districts of Chittagong, Feni, and Comilla covering 11 subdistricts. The environmental monitoring and quality testing have covered Section–F of the project which will consists of about 20 km and the gas transmission pipeline route will traverse from Makrabpur under Nangalkot Upazilla of Comilla district to Ghoshua, under Barura upazilla of Comilla district. |
| Description of Actual Services Provided by Staff of this Firm in the Assignment:
Services included: ØEnvironmental monitoring of various issues due to project activities, such as, environmental pollution (dust, noise, and water); issues as listed in the EMP; provision of safe water, sanitary toilet facility and hygienic accommodation for workers at camp sites; provision of adequate occupational health, safety, and fire safety facilities; flora & fauna; waste management system; drainage system & vegetation. Carry out environmental quality monitoring sampling and testing. ØAmbient Air Quality Monitoring (PM10, PM2.5, NO2, SO2) for one (01) location – 2 (two) hours duration; the total number will be three (03) times (one during preconstruction phase and two during construction phase) ØNoise Level Measurement one (01) location – 10 (ten) minutes duration, only daytime; the total number will be three (03) times (one during preconstruction phase and two during construction phase) ØDrinking Water Quality Test (pH, EC, As, Fe, Cr, Pb, Total Coliform, Oil & Grease) for one (01) location. The total number will be two (02) times (one during preconstruction phase and one during construction phase) ØSoil Quality Test (pH, nutrients – N, P, K) for one (01) location and only during preconstruction phase. ØLiquid Waste Test (pH, EC, Cr, Pb, Turbidity, TDS, BOD, Oil & Grease) for one (01) location and only during construction phase. ØPreparation of seven (07) Environmental Monitoring Reports for the duration of January 2018 to July 2019. |
