Consultancy Services for Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) for Bio-electricity Production from Poultry Litter of Ummi Kulsum Agro Ltd.

The proposed project involves setting up of three (03) biogas-based electricity generation units by Ummi Kulsum Agro Ltd. (UKL) at Gobindashi Union of Bhuapur Upazilla of Tangail district. Electricity generated from the project will be used by the farm for satisfying captive demand of electricity in poultry sheds and labour quarter by running one 25 kWp biogas generator. The slurry produced as byproduct from the biogas digester will be sold in the local market after reducing water component as organic fertilizer.

The scope of the services shall comprise:

1.    Carryout Environmental and Social Survey in the project influenced area as per the TOR.

2.    Carryout Focus Group Discussions and Stakeholder Consultations.

3.    Preparation of Baseline Environmental Survey & Consultation Report.

4.    Review of existing information (relevant all documents).

5.    Provide a full description of the project (such as project location, layout, components, construction materials, etc.).

6.    Provide a description of the environment.

7.    Analysis of alternatives to the proposed project.

8.    Address occupational health and safety (H&S) requirements.

9.    Ensure that all provisions of GOB and WB applicable policies are complied with.

10.  Devise a mitigation plan for all project-related impacts and

11.  Prepare IEE in accordance with the GOB & DOE Policies.
