A) Detail Feasibility Study and (B) Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Social Impact Assessment (SIA) study for Construction of Raipura 120MWp (AC) Grid Tied Solar Power Plant Project at Raipura, Narsingdi, Bangladesh

Ashuganj Power Station Company Ltd, will set up a 120-MW solar based power plant at Raipura upazila, Narsingdi district, Bangladesh. APSCL will design, engineer, manufacture, finance, construct, complete, permit, test, commission, insure, own, operate and maintain the plant for the purpose of generating and supplying electricity to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) for a period of more than 30 years on an off-take basis. The Project will produce clean energy that will contribute to lowering electricity generation costs compared to the current costs associated with other fuels and thus leads to a substantial decrease in the Government of Bangladesh’s fiscal deficit. Realizing the potential of this sector, APSCL explored the opportunity of combining their relevant expertise to promote and develop alternative/renewable energy production through Solar Power Plant Project.

Services included:

§ Environmental Baseline monitoring including ecological and environmental hotspot survey.

§ Conduct ambient air quality monitoring for 8 hours duration and carry out testing of defined parameters.

§ Collection of groundwater samples and carry out testing of defined parameters.

§ Groundwater quality monitoring and Laboratory tests at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) laboratory and Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) laboratory; and some by DSCL at site by field testing kits.

§ Collection of riverbed samples and carry out testing of defined parameters.

§ Benthos and Plankton sample collection and Analysis.

§ Preparation of Initial Environmental Examination (IEE), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Social Impact Assessment (SIA).
